The Retreater

Elevate Your Wellness - Longevity Retreat

About The Retreat

Join this retreat to elevate and experience one of the world's first true 'longevity' retreats for busy professionals. Drawing on the principles espoused by longevity experts such as Dr. Peter Attia and others, we teach you: 1. Why exercise is the single biggest weapon in the fight against aging and disease, and how your specific body was designed to function and move through personalised movement assessments, exercise programs and group classes. 2. How accessible and authentic nutritional and lifestyle changes are key to addressing multiple marginalized health issues that plague modern life and how you can nourish yourself. 3. Guided mindfulness practices such as meditation, breathwork, cold water immersion and sunset yoga which can help you calm your nervous system, keep stress and anxiety at bay, and unlock your true potential. Our practitioners are world leaders in their fields and include British CrossFit champions, the movement expert for the Chelsea FC women's team, the head of yoga at BLOK studios, and functional medicine experts who have helped people recover from illnesses and issues which Western medicine has no answers to. Our autumn retreats take place at The Rewilding in Lancashire on a stunning rural estate with luxury cottage accommodation, gourmet open-fire chef-prepared meals, hot tubs, wild swimming lakes, foraging, hikes, and more for you to enjoy as part of a community of incredible change-makers who often become lifelong friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be physically fit to attend the retreat?

Not necessarily, we cater to all levels of fitness, from athletes to complete beginners. Your individual movement assessment will help you identify your own body's specific imbalances and we will work with you to create a programme for whatever level you're at.

Do you allow dogs?

Sadly we cannot allow dogs in the cottages.

Who comes on these retreats?

Our retreats are for change-makers who are incurably curious about improving and optimising their health and wellbeing. Some of our retreats are for specific groups e.g. women only / men only / entrepreneurs only, and others are more open (this is advertised on our booking page). We don’t restrict access by any other characteristic and welcome people of all ages and backgrounds. We welcome couples, groups, friends or solo guests who often come and make great friends.

What food and drink is included?

All food and drink is included in your stay. We serve three nourishing meals a day on full retreat days. On your arrival day, we serve a welcome snack and dinner, and on your departure day we serve breakfast and lunch. You can help yourself to coffee, a selection of teas, dairy and non-dairy milks and soft drinks throughout the day. As much of our food as possible is locally sourced from organic local farmers. We don’t serve alcohol on retreat.

I am suffering from depression. Can I come on retreat?

If you have a history of mental illness and are on medication for depression or other conditions, we recommend that you talk to your doctor to see if our programme would be suitable for you. We are not mental health professionals and are not qualified to support guests with mental illness issues, including feeling suicidal or recently coming off strong anti-depressants or other prescription medication.

What do I need to bring?

Before retreat starts we send a detailed welcome email which includes a suggested packing list. This includes things like swimwear, sunscreen, your journal and a pen, etc.

Can you cater for different dietary requirements?

Our standard menu is designed to be varied and nourishing, with a focus on whole foods, and always includes the option of animal products and proteins. We can usually cater for dietary requirements, but please let us know if you have any food allergies before you come. We don’t cater for serious food allergies that require medical supervision, or medical conditions that require a specialised diet and cannot guarantee that food will be prepared free from specific allergens.

Is there phone reception and Wi-Fi?

Yes, there is generally phone reception at our retreat locations and we have Wi-Fi onsite. We can’t promise that the connection will be available at all times or that it can support any particular usage on your devices. This is an immersive experience and you are asked not to use our facilities for remote working.

Is there a spirituality angle ?

Yes there is. Our functional medicine and mindfulness practices are all about centering yourself and tapping into your mind and body’s inner wisdom. We do this via a number of methods, including meditation, breathwork, reiki, coaching and others.

What can I do during my downtime?

So glad you asked! We build downtime into every day, and there’s countless things for you to do on the estate: Take a dip in our outdoor hot tubs, explore our woods and forests, brave the waters in our wild swimming lakes, use our training gym, play in our games room, visit an award-winning local pub

I'm pregnant or post-partum, can I come on retreat?

Absolutely, our practitioners all work with pregnancy and new mums. Just make sure you’re cleared by your doctor to participate in our programme first.

The team curates such a broad range of activities with attention to detail and flexibility to have a really unique experience. Nat as a retreat coordinator is just fantastic and adds such a personal touch to everything. The practitioners are amazing and I've come away with exercises specific to my body as well as mindfulness tools for aligning my personal values and goals.

My retreat gave me the ideal time to focus on myself with a mix of the practical so I left feeling both relaxed and energised. It's so hard to pick a favourite part but getting time to focus on myself, meeting such an incredible group of inspiring women, and wild swimming were all incredible, as well as learning to look at the language I use to talk to myself and the ways I needed to move better.

We were asked how we felt on day 2 of the retreat and my word was 'comfortable'. The team are so fantastic, I've learned loads of techniques to help me slow down and live a more gentle life and also made some amazing connections. The environment just felt so safe and oh my god the food was out of this world!
