About The Retreat

The Remembering Birdsong retreat is an expansive journey designed to restore vital energies as we build into the high days of summer. It is guided by Fern, an Embodied Yoga teacher and Awareness Facilitator with fifteen years experience of working with people. This retreat is an invitation for women who value an embodied life rich with feeling and intuition to gather for potent practices amidst meadows of wild flowers. We will work with a wide spectrum of practices to explore the unconscious holdings within the body and mind that can contribute towards feeling of "stuckness". Working in a nervous system informed way, Fern will support you to liberate stagnant energy, befriend your body in a true way and offer generous space for the magic of community and deep. ​Our hope is for your cells to shimmer with inspiration and for you to gather with like minded women who support each other to feel more relaxed in their skin, who own their gifts and give into the joy of life when she arises.

Itinerary

1Day 1

7:30AM - 8:30AM

Dynamic Meditation - each day we open with the same meditation that includes movement, voice and stillness. This becomes a take away practice that you can continue at home.

9:15AM - 11:00AM

Embody & Flow - a thematic and exploratory approach to yoga and movement that supports you to drop into your body's wisdom. You can expect movements that layer, build and repeat that inspire the curved, fluid nature of your human form. There is generous space for structured guidance, intuitive movement, tension release, and rest with the intention to bring regulation to your nervous system and open into the mystery of life.

12:00PM - 2:00PM

Free time. Melt your bones in the hot tub or take a revitalising cold plunge, hike in the moors, read a book in the forest, book in for a treatment, journal by the fire or take a nap.

2:00PM - 4:00PM

The Embodied Nervous System workshop - Learn how your nervous system is in a continual conversation with your body, your environment and your relationships. Fern will share how feeling states such as anxiety, fatigue, irritability and more are not just random experiences but an indication of the neurological pathways your body is operating within. This will feed our work over the course of the weekend to help you return to regulated states of joy, beauty and connection.

7:30PM - 9:00PM

Somatic rest and sacred sound - we always close our day with deep rest and integration before bed,

2Day 2

Authentic relating - sacred journeys into the heart of womanhood guided by the art of compassionate communication practices. We work in small groups to help us discover more about ourselves and each other.

7:30PM - 9:00PM

Fire ritual - we gather together before the master of fire for an evening of sacred intention.

3Day 3

7:30AM - 8:30AM

9:00AM - 11:00AM

1:00PM - 3:00PM

7:00PM - 9:00PM

Sacred Dance - a blindfolded (optional) guided movement journey that encourages connection to the experience of your life and how it wants to express itself within a carefully crafted musical sound scape. An opportunity for you to connect into the sensations of the body invite any blocked energy to release. The session will close in ambient sound where the body can rest.

4Day 4

6:30AM - 8:00AM

Sunrise hike to greet the day from the Celtic fort.

10:00AM - 12:00PM

Vessel of Life closing nature ritual.

Yes! 100% we welcome solo Retreaters. Everyone will be made to feel welcome and part of the group.

Ferns signature Embody & Flow has such a special gift of being able to take you on a journey into a felt experience. She uses such beautiful language with imagery and visualisation so cleverly created from a thorough knowledge of the body.
